Biography
Musician biographies are funny things; you're meant to summarise in less than a page all you've experienced, learnt, won, done, played, and so the list of achievements goes on.
In the world of classical music it is common to start playing an instrument at an early age, which is often the starting point of any biography, followed up by the name of so and so college, the list of prizes won, concerts played, etc.
In this formula every biography holds something similar to the next. Everyone who has ever tried to read any biography book (I've read about 12 biographies on Oscar Wilde) might agree with me that regardless of how exciting the events may be (and believe me - Oscar Wilde had anything but an uninteresting life), the element of listing happening after happening tend to be a bit dull at some point (my apologies to Ransome, Hyde, Douglas, Harris, Shaw and Holland).
In my opinion, the biographies of musicians can often come across as unapproachable and, ironically enough, impersonal. I realise that for the purpose of promoting oneself, we have to keep some sort of professional - or even business-like distance. Even so, we are all human.
